Local authorities of the two towns of Boumerdes and Boujdour (in the Sahrawi refugee camps) inked Monday a partnership and cooperation agreement.
Signed after the end of the 7th edition of the Summer University of executives of the Polisario Front, held on 7-22 August in Boumerdes, the partnership and cooperation agreement is part of the relations "of cooperation and mutual aid between the Algerian Sahrawi brotherly peoples."
The representative of the province of Boujdour expressed his thanks and gratitude to Algerians supporting the Sahrawi people, affirming that this twinning between the provinces of Boumerdes and Boujdour "is a sign of solidarity with the Sahrawi people and all peoples that militate worldwide."
Speaking after the signing of the agreement, president of the commune of Boumerdes expressed proud to host the 7th Summer University of the Polisario Front, recalling the struggle of children of the region against the French occupying forces.
He affirmed that the Sahrawi people are last popular power that resist to colonialism in Africa and reiterated support to the Sahrawi people's struggle.
