Protesters in Tahrir square: Egypt's Day of Departure


Cairo - The Egyptian President, Hosni Mubarak appeared increasingly isolated after hundreds of thousands of protesters returned to Tahrir Square on Friday and the Obama administration and some members of the Egyptian military and civilian elite pursued plans to nudge him from power. Friday's demonstration demanding the ouster of President Hosni Mubarak was dubbed the "Day of Departure", but while it succeeded in drawing hundreds of thousands of protesters into Egypt's streets, where they were joined by some surprising notables, it failed to live up to its name
