Mutilated bodies of 4 Baloch enforced-disappeared people found in Quetta
Balochistan- MAP - The mystery of four more Baloch missing persons ended on Saturday when their brutally tortured bodies were found dumped in two separate locations of Quetta. An activist of BSO-Azad was among those found murdered. Police, acting upon a tip-off, found three bodies packed in separate sacks in Jabal-e-Noor area, a suburb of Quetta, Saturday morning within the jurisdiction of Brewery Police Station. according to "Balochwarna" website.
The bodies were taken to the Bolan Medical College Hospital.
The identities of the bodies were determined through slips recovered from each body. They were identified as Maqsood Qalandarani s/o Sher Mohammad, an activist of Baloch Students Organization (BSO-Azad), Gulam Murtaza s/o Haleem and Nasir Badni. Police had found another dead body from Qambarani Road of Quetta. He was later identified as Abdul Khalil Baloch. He had gone also went missing a month ago. The police was expectedly completely blank that who were behind these murders in an unending series.
“The bodies bore multiple marks of torture and the cloths of two bodies were wet when brought to hospital,” doctors said, added Gulam Murtaza and Nasir Badini were brutally and inhumanly tortured before killed while Nasir was shot in his head causing his instant death at the place of detention.
Maqsood’s body bore a deep wound of hard object presumably frequently hit by an iron rod. According to BSO-Azad spokesperson, Maqsood was whisked FC (Frontier Corp) personnel during a search operation in Tutak area of Khuzdar a few months ago. “Many people are still missing who were abducted during the search,” he said.
Chairman Voice for Baloch Missing Persons, Nasurllah Baloch said all the four victims were on the list of missing persons and their relatives held news conference in Quetta and Islamabad for their safe recovery. The Supreme Court ignored appeal of the families whose bodies were found on Saturday. “I again say we have evidence and eyewitnesses that they were picked up and ultimately killed by state functionaries in official custody,” he added. The bodies Nasir Badini, Gulam Murtaza and Maqsood Qalandrani were handed over to their relatives for burial after autopsy.
Nasurllah Baloch said we, the relatives of missing persons, now demand from international humanitarian organizations and United Nations to take notice of these state-sponsored ethnic cleansing of Baloch intellectuals and political activists. “We recorded our protest with Chief Justice of Pakistan in Islamabad and also held protest rallies in Karachi to draw the attention of international organizations but with no avail,” he added.
Meanwhile, a complete shutter down strike was observed in Kech district for the second consecutive day on Saturday to condemn the recovery of bullet riddled dead bodies of Baloch missing persons. The business and trade activities in Turbat, Mand, Hoshap, Nasirabad, Tump, Buleida and other townships remained standstill for the second day to support the strike call given by Baloch National Front (BNF)
