President of Ghana renews support to Saharawi people struggle

Accra - MAP -The President of Ghana, John Atta Mills renewed Thursday, the firm position of his country in supporting the inalienable right of the Saharawi people to self determination and independence.

"Ghana will be loyal to its principles in supporting the just causes including Western Sahara people, those suffering occupation for nearly 36 years", John Atta Mills said during the credentials presentation of Saharawi new ambassador to Accra.

He called on the international community to assume responsibility towards people promised by the UN to take part in deciding their destiny, pointing out that Western Sahara decolonization, the African Last colony, would enhance stability in the continent.

Ghana recognizes the Saharawi Arab Democratic and Republic (SADR) since 24 August 1979.
