Moroccan dangerous plan to intimidate MINURSO personnel
Staffers of the UN Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara (MINURSO) has complained of being exposed to intimidation from the part of Moroccan authorities to dissuade them from performing their functions properly, urging UN chief to intervene to put an end to such practices.
In a letter addressed to Ban Ki-moon, the World Federation of UN Associations (WFUNA) stated that Morocco, with the support of its allies with the Security Council, has launched a new plan to intimidate MINURSO members, who were allowed to return recently to the occupied Western Sahara.
The letter called for the MINURSO staff to return to full functionality, emphasizing the need to create the appropriate conditions to resume their mandate.
