African Union to review progress report of NEPAD Planning and Coordinating Agency


African Press Agency-Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) - The Heads of State and Government Orientation Committee (HSGOC) on the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD) is holding its 24th meeting on Saturday in Addis Abba prior to the official opening of the 16th ordinary session of the African Union.

During the summit of HSGOC, Dr Ibrahim Assane Mayaki, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the NEPAD Planning and Coordinating Agency will present a report on the progress of the agency in the coordination of the implementation of Africa’s priority programmes and projects.

African leaders in attendance at the 24th HSDOC will be briefed on the regional projects that are being pushed for in selected sectors such as agriculture, science and technology, information and communication technologies and infrastructure.

The NEPAD/HSGOC high level sub-committee on infrastructure is led by South African President Jacob Zuma who is also attending the on-going summit here in Addis Ababa
