Moroccan Journalist Rachid Niny sentenced to one year in prison for exposing cooruption in Moroccan government

Casablanca, Morocco (CNN) -- The Editor of the Moroccan Al-Masaa newspaper, Rachid Niny, has been sentenced to one year in prison after articles he wrote about corruption among government officials.
Al-Massae devoted on Friday its front page to coverage of his case. Niny had previously clashed with authorities and been fined for his work.
The publisher was convicted on the charge on the ground of writing articles criticizing the Moroccan intelligence agency and calling for it to be put under parliamentary control.
