Sweden reaffirms its support to self-determination referendum in Western Sahara
Stockholm - MAP - The Foreign Affairs Ministry of Sweden has reaffirmed the support of Sweden to the right of the Saharawi people of self-determination and to the UN peace process, expressing readiness of Sweden to continue the humanitarian aid for the Saharawi refugees, during a meeting of its officials with the Western Sahara Minister of Cooperation, Mr. Salek Baba Hasana.
He was received at Parliament headquarters by the President of the Swedish Parliamentary Group for Western Sahara, Ms. Bodil Ceballos. She expressed her “unconditional support to a solution respecting right of the Saharawi people to self-determination and independence and reiterated determination of the Group to support the just struggle of the Saharawis.
The Minister was also met with representatives of the civil society and Aid Agency of Sweden, which renewed the intention of the Swedish government to continue providing the humanitarian aid for the Saharawi refugees.
He briefed his interlocutors on the latest developments concerning the question of Western Sahara.
