Ex-Tunisian president charges over possession of weapons and drugs

Tunisia - Maghreb Press Agency - The former Tunisian President, Zine El Abidine Ben Ali, is charging over possession of weapons and drugs, which will be held on July 4 by the Court of Tunis.

That court had already sentenced in absentia on June 20 the Tunisian ousted president and his wife, Leila Trabelsi.




his lawyer announced that he will demand for a postponement to  allows him to contact with his family.

Zine El Abidine Ben Ali and his wife, Leila Trabelsi, fled to Saudi Arabia from January 14. The authorities of the kingdom turn a deaf ear to the Tunisian authorities to extradite the couple.
