Venezuelan Association condemns escalation of Moroccan repression in occupied Dakhla
Caracas – MAP - The Venezuelan Association for Solidarity with Western Sahara (ASOVESSA) condemned the new wave of brutal repression perpetrated by the Moroccan army against the Sahrawi defenseless citizens in the occupied city of Dakhla.
The ASOVESSA called on the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon to ensure the protection and monitoring of Sahrawi human rights in the occupied territories of Western Sahara.
It also urged UN to impose the necessary sanctions against Morocco to immediately release the Saharawi political prisoner, Mohamed Yahya Hafed, sentenced to 15 years in prison and all Saharawi political prisoners and to unveil the fate of more than 651 missing and 151 Saharawi prisoners of war at accruing in Morocco.
ASOVESSA has finally launched an appeal to the government, political parties, trade unions, human rights organizations, NGOs, civil society in Venezuela to condemn the "ethnic cleansing" against the Sahrawi people.
The occupied city of Dakhla experienced last Sunday a bloody attacks perpetrated by Moroccan settlers backed by the Moroccan forces, which caused one death, eight injured and others arrested in addition to looting homes and burned cars.
