Kohler meets with Acting Assistant Secretary of State for Near East Affairs

 United Nations Secretary General’s Personal Envoy for Western Sahara Horst Kohler met in Washington with Acting Assistant Secretary of State for Near East Affairs David Satterfield with whom he held discussions on prospects of settlement of conflict in Western Sahara.

The discussions were held as part of the broadened consultations initiated by the German mediator to relaunch UN process, in deadlock since 2012.

UN emissary informed the Security Council about his visit Thursday to Washington to meet with officials of the American administration.
