Mauritanian President receives Sahrawi Minister in charge of diplomatic affairs

The member of the National Secretariat, Minister in charge of

diplomatic affairs, Mr. Mohamed Salem Ould Salek, was received by the Mauritanian President Mr. Mohamed Ould Sheikh Al -Ghazwani at the Presidential Palace in the Mauritanian capital, Nouakchott.

Minister in charge of diplomatic affairs, Mr. Mohamed Salem Ould Salek, handed the Mauritanian President Mr. Mohamed Ould Sheikh Al -Ghazwani a letter from the President of the Republic, the Secretary -General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Brahim Ghali.
After the meeting, the Minister in charge of diplomatic affairs, made a statement to the Mauritanian News Agency, in which he explained that he had delivered to His Excellency the President of the Mauritanian Republic a written message from his brother and friend, His Excellency the President of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, Mr. Brahim Ghali.
Mr. Mohamed Salem Ould Salek, said to the Mauritanian News Agency, that the meeting was an occasion to talk about the historical bilateral relations between the two countries, which are developing and strengthening for the benefit of the two brotherly peoples, adding that he had briefed the Mauritanian President about the latest developments in the Sahrawi issue.
He also stressed that the Sahrawi Republic is working and looking forward to peace, noting that Mauritania has and plays a positive role for stability, based on the basic principles of international law, the African Union Charter, and the United Nations.
The meeting was attended from the Mauritanian side by, Director of the President's Office, Mr. Ismail Sheikh Ahmed, and Mr. Haruna Trauri who is charged with a mission to the Presidency and from the Sahrawi side, the National Director of Security, Documentation and Protection of Institutions, Mr. Hama Malu
