Spain's position over Western Sahara, Sanchez Government's individual stance
President of Algeria, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, said in an interview with Al Jazeera that Algeria considers Spain's position over Western Sahara as an individual stance by the government of Pedro Sanchez, reported Algeria Press Service (APS).
In an interview granted to the Qatari news channel Al Jazeera, broadcast Tuesday evening, President Tebboune said: "we consider Spain's position over Western Sahara as an individual stance by the government of Pedro Sanchez," adding that regarding Western Sahara issue, Spain adopted "secret attitudes" that do "not allow it to shirk its responsibilities."
He noted that "trade between Algeria and Spain is going on and most of it is carried out by the private sectors in the two countries."
President Tebboune said he "regretted that Algerian-Moroccan relations have reached this point," especially as "they are neighboring countries."
He added that relations between the two countries had reached "a point of no return" and that the Algerian position was a "reaction," added the same source.
