Photo exhibition about Saharawi refugees in London
London - Arab Maghreb independent press service - The Free Western Sahara Network will organize on February 27th a photo exhibition about the suffering of the Saharawi refugees in the Algerian desert.
According to the organizers, the exhibition, which will be running for 2 months, is coincided with the 35th anniversary of the Declaration of the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic. The photos are by Robert Griffin, a professional photographer, and Stefan.
The same source said there will free booze, some hopefully celebrity guests, a short film screening and talk.
"I visited the camps on my Sahara series and was hugely impressed by the indomitable resilience of the Saharawi people. These photos are a tribute to the spirit of hope over adversity," two Monty Pythons, Palin and Jones, came along to our recent London opening and Michael Palin said.
The evening will also include a Launch for the FISAHARA Film Festival that takes place in the refugee camps in the period between May 4th to 8th, 2011.
